a 501c3 non-profit
The name Loving Nature (501c3) grew from our commitment to nurture and cherish that which sustains us.
A lifetime of living close to nature and with loving respect for the elements has inspired a natural flow of living and working with the least impact and most awareness and care possible each year expanding our abilities as we do our best.
Hale Kai, our off the grid sustainable home and living and learning center is in a small fishing village on the ocean on the Big Island of Hawaii. This has been our base of travels allowing us to live and learn from the land and the people. Here we have the opportunity to teach and share about solar electricity, sustainable water supply, conscious building and to live a lifestyle which allows us to share our paradise and a lifetime of experience and learning.
Hale Kai is inspired by our travels and time with tribal peoples who live artfully and lovingly close to the nature and each other creating community and working together for common vision.
Deborah Koehn is deeply integrated into the ever evolving world of health and wellness and brings with her a lifetime of travels studying with Yogis, shamans and medicine people in remote corners of the world as well as contemporary research in neuroscience, psychos/social/economic/spiritual studies. She has trained yoga therapists and medical and health care professional, spreading the practical skills of Yoga. All structures are sustainably built and designed for maximum connection to nature and for the smallest carbon and environmental impact foot print possible. He has put his heart into providing and maintaining fresh water for our small community and supporting the installations of solar electric. His teaching and mentoring is an integral part of his life and the life of Loving Nature. Bio
Alison Teal Blehert-Koehn is a wild child with a ferocious and loving connection to the oceans and the land and a passion for creating education through entertainment. A graduate of USC film School and award-winning film maker, global public speaker and television personality she has already logged endless hours supporting Loving Nature and all that we stand for.
A tireless proponent of raising the awareness of single use plastics through her films talks and travels she also through her films and social media series has made local and global change in plastic pollution, reef protection, and cultural persecution with a focus on protecting our worlds waters. Humans cannot survive without drinking water AND if the oceans die, we die and plastic is killing our oceans. She has been instrumental in spreading the word for banning the use of polluting sunscreens in Hawaii which have already left their mark on Hawaiian waters.
At this time Alison can be seen on flights landing in Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines in a one minute short she gracefully and lovingly produced explaining the urgency of banning toxic sunscreens now. She has been an honored speaker at world environmental conferences and through her work has influended millions of people from young children to teens, adults and elders.
Alisons recent Ted Talk focused on protecting our world waters and what we love and living a sustainable life which is a life that lends to day to day awareness of our footprint on this beautiful planet. We can each do our best and if everyone does their best and we learn and are inspired by each other we will cultivate Loving Nature.
There are many free films and inspirational materials on Alison’s website.
The efforts of our family have been very rewarding for the last 38 years and members of the community have begun to depend upon the water resources we have facilitated for our neighbors and ourselves.
In order to maintain the support we lovingly share with our community and to create sustainability of the related progams for future generations, Deborah, Alison and David, have established Loving Nature, a non-profit organization (501c3).
With donations of time, resources, funding and inspration we can continue to support ongoing yoga related activities, movement and sports, exemplary nutritional resourcing, cultural practices, community infrastructure i.e. green transportation, green power, access to clean drinking water and off grid electrical power, ocean and aina (earth) clean up projects, and ethnic diversity, promote and work to maintain a strong, healthy community and environment.
Awareness will also be disseminated via social media projects, video, film and photo essays regarding our program to spread the word and raise awareness*
